You’ll need
Licensure
✓Active Illinois Respiratory Care License
Certifications
✓Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
✓Basic Life Support (BLS)
✓Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
✓Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) and/or Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C) and/or Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Education
✓Bachelor's Degree and Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
Qualifications
✓3 Years of Experience
✓Grandfathered into role if hired before 1/18/2026

Competent in all adultCompetent in all adult med surg units in all respiratory therapies and modalities
Understands and implements adultUnderstands and implements adult respiratory protocols, policies, and guidelines that are ordered on med surg units
Adjusts frequencies as appropriateAdjusts frequencies as appropriate
Educate patients and/or familiesEducate patients and/or families and provide information about respiratory disease management, community support groups and other resources
Competent in all adultCompetent in all adult care areas including med/surg units, emergency department, and critical care units and other units as per hospital expectations
