The Respiratory Care Practitioner performs evaluations in accordance with physician orders/protocols, administers respiratory care treatments, and provides education to patients with cardiopulmonary disabilities, injuries, and/or diseases. Hours vary Pay based on experience starting at $30.56 Responsibilities Assembles, checks for proper function, identifies malfunctions of equipment, and takes action to correct malfunctions of equipment., Conducts therapeutic procedures to achieve maintenance of patient airway, including the care of artificial airways and to achieve removal of bronchial pulmonary secretions., Determines the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory care plan, recommends modifications where indicated, and participates in development of respiratory care plan., Documents completely and thoroughly.
Assures that documentation reflects changes in patient condition and notification to appropriate individual has occurred., Evaluates, monitors and educates patients in the Cardiac Rehab program. Coordinates Cardiac Rehab class., Explains care plan, therapy, and goals to patient, maintaining records of communication., Performs cardiology tests including EKGs in the Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Department settings; places patients on Holter Monitors; and performs stress tests in the Outpatient Cardiology Clinic., Performs pulmonary treatments including pulmonary function tests, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and endotracheal tube care., Serves as a resource to others regarding complicated respiratory care cases or procedures.
Requirements AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required)ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 Days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Compensation Estimated Compensation Range $30.56 - $47.37 Pay based on experience
