A typical day for a Respiratory Equipment Technician may include: Supplying oxygen and other compressed gas cylinders throughout the Medical Center.
Processing, cleaning, and preparing respiratory equipment for safe utilization. Performing scheduled equipment calibrations, electrical safety tests (ESTs), and routine maintenance. Troubleshooting ventilators and other respiratory equipment and performing minor repairs when needed.
Replenishing respiratory supplies in designated areas and documenting equipment or supply concerns. Responding promptly to oxygen refill requests for code carts. Stocking shelves, closets, and satellite storage areas to ensure respiratory supplies are readily available.
Processing contaminated equipment for future use in accordance with safety and infection-control procedures. Providing prompt, courteous, and compassionate service to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. Maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient rights at all times.
Taking responsibility for section operations in the absence of the manager. This role might be for you if: You have a high school diploma or equivalent. You have some knowledge of the medical environment and enjoy working with the public.

To be considered for this Respiratory Equipment Technician opportunity: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some knowledge of the medical field and experience working with the public preferred. Successful completion of all required orientation programs.
Ability to follow departmental, institutional, and safety policies. Ability to perform the physical and technical responsibilities associated with processing, maintaining, stocking, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment.
