✓Maintain NBRC credentials and State RCP licensure in active status.
Certifications
✓A Certified Respiratory Therapist must demonstrate quality health care through patient safety interventions and strategies:
✓The Certified Respiratory Therapist must demonstrate competency for knowledge/skill/ability for:
✓A competent Certified Respiratory Therapist may be assigned temporarily on a shift-by-shift basis to the roles listed below in the event additional staff is required and there are no Registered Respiratory Therapists available:
✓Acquire and maintain skill/competency and required credentials for a position, including cross-trained specialty areas.
✓If RRT eligible graduate, demonstrate preparation/action to achieve NBRC Registry credential to facilitate holding a permanent position in NICU, ED, ICU, PF lab, and/or Supervisory (lead RT) roles.
NRP preferred for staff assigned to NICU
PALS preferred for staff routinely assigned to ER, ICU, pediatrics, and Orthopedic Institute.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner Program required.
Graduate of Associate in Applied Science degree program preferred.
Qualifications
✓Advanced Cardiac Life Support
✓Within 90 Days of Employment
Respiratory Therapy work experience in an acute or critical care setting preferred.
Pediatric Advance Life Support preferred
Neonatal Resuscitation preferred

About the role

The Certified Respiratory Therapist is ultimately accountable to the respiratory supervisor and department director and performs under the direct supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor and is delegated a shift assignment by the supervisor to achieve quality patient care and expected productivity during a routine workflow experience.
