You’ll need
Licensure
✓Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing within the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
✓This designation shall not be used beyond six months of graduation or by RT applicants that have received a failing score on any examination required by the Board for licensure.
Certifications
✓AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
✓AHA ACLS required within 90 days of hire at MWH.
✓NRP required within 90 days of hire for SH
Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care preferred, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Education
✓Be a graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program within in the last six months
Qualifications
✓required for NICU only at MWH within 90 days of hire
✓Addendum for Associates designated as RT Applicants:
✓Those practicing as an RT applicant must meet the requirements set forth by VA 54.1-2955 and must:
✓Work under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist.
✓Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends.
✓Clinical positions in Mary Washington Home Health and/or Hospice must also meet driving requirements.
