✓Requirements
Licensure
✓He /she must be licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in/by the State of New York.
Certifications
✓Alternatively, individuals working in the MSHC RC Smoking Cessation will be required to hold the following specialty credentials: CTTS and/or Master CTTS.
✓Alternatively, individuals working in the MSHC RC Department will be required to hold the following specialty credentials: CPFT and/or RPFT and the AE-C and/or COPD educator.
✓Alternatively, individuals working in the BWC RC Department will be required to hold the following specialty credentials: NRP.
✓All therapists will be required BLS and ACLS certifications.
✓NRP, maintain 30 CEU’s for the licensure period—must work towards this annually.
✓AE-C, COPD Credentialed, ACCS, NPS, CPFT, RPFT, CTTS.
✓Instructor of one (1) of the following: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS.
Education
✓Registered Respiratory Therapist with an AAS in Respiratory Care.
✓Acute or sub-acute Respiratory Therapist experience two 2 years' one of the following: Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care, Healthcare Management, or related subject.
Qualifications
✓You must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
✓The ability to effectively communicate with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
✓A commitment to teamwork and innovative problem-solving skills are a must.
✓The ability to prioritize and attention to detail are requisite.
✓Previous experience with clinical instruction, preceptor or teaching experience a definite plus.
