Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. Qualifications and
High School Diploma/GE or Associate Degree in Science required Required Licenses: Current Respiratory Therapist Licensure to practice in the state of TN; Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date. Minimum Work
Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services preferred. More about Southern TN Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville. We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974.
We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound.
The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area. STRHS-Lawrenceburg is dedicated to providing our friends and neighbors with the healthcare they need close to home.
