Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest. Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.
Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit). This is a Part Time RCP position (36 hours per two week period), benefited, and with 12 hour varied shift . The varied shifts would be either either 0600-1830 or 1800-0630 and at Mercy San Diego Hospital.
This role is to fulfill our RCP new grad program . The training will be full time and once that is completed, you will move into a part time role. The Respiratory Therapist, in collaboration with other caregivers: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates actions for respiratory care.
Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care and other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit. Responds to critical situations. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties.
Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance, and performance improvement activities. #LI-JS1 Required: Excellent interpersonal skills. Enjoys working with the public.
Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English. Technically competent in the department skills inventory. Computer literate.
Current California RCP license. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
