Every other weekend requiredResponsibilities:Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric.
Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after completing service. Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and posible side effects of each. Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects.
Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning. Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding complications and contraindications. Assesses patient needs and tolerance for treatment, reassessing responses to therapy.
Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on patient learning needs, including family involvement as appropriate.
