Licensure
✓Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
✓Graduate of a school of nursing withcurrent licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
Certifications
✓Graduation from an accredited APP program and certification/registration as Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in the State of Rhode Island.
Qualifications
✓iIf Registered Nurse:i
✓iIf Advanced Practice Provider:i
✓Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse or advanced practice provider.
✓Meets hospital credentialing, professional licensing qualifications and fulfill requirements for ongoing education and quality review. SAFEs will participate in 6/12 monthly SAFE Team meetings and participate in a yearly 4-hour educational update.
✓Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Experience in emergencycute care, women’s health, adolescent healthcare or related field preferred.

Maintain the chain ofMaintain the chain of custody and adhere to evidence collection protocols
Obtain a detailed historyObtain a detailed history for the purpose of evidence collection and medical treatment
Collaborate with ED providerCollaborate with ED provider regarding medication recommendations for emergency contraception and STI prophylaxis
Complete a head-to-toe assessmentComplete a head-to-toe assessment to assess for and document injuries, use forensic photography for identification/documentation of injuries
