Under the direction of the director, the RN charge nurse utilizes the nursing process, facilitates patient care making nursing assessments and diagnosis, formulates care plans based on the diagnosis and implements and evaluates the plan of care. ResponsibilitiesAdjust daily staffing to maintain productivity levels between 98%-102%. Complete daily assignment sheets & turn in for accuracy.
Completes staff evals, 90 day/annual, timely & recommends performance ratings. Coordinate training & orientation of new employees & assists in staff development on assigned shifts in collaboration w/ director. Coordinates patient flow and room turnover timely and coordinates with OBS case manager for D/C times in less than 24 hrs.
Complete all assigned audits. Demonstrates clinical care that is safe, best outcome practice w/ all Core Measures compliant. Documents care provision per departmental standards.
Demonstrates compliance with all HCAHPS behaviors to allow patients and families to have an excellent hospital experience & hold team accountable. Completes assigned work and other duties as scheduled in allotted time frame. Attend meetings with supervisory staff.
Monitors call-in policy. Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects and educational offerings to peers, mentoring/precepting of new team members. Attends/reviews daily huddles, general staff meetings, completes all required competencies & mandatory education as assigned & meets w/ the Director for dept updates.
Seeks training, educational, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty. Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients & family members. Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
Facilitate patient flow & room turnover by communication with physicians and coordinating with case management to facilitate discharges in less than 23 hrs. QualificationsEducationAssociates Degree Licensure/Certification/RegistrationFlorida Registered Nurse License BLS ACLS NIH Stroke Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience RequiredLeadership Skills. Should attend hospital training programs including: New Manager/Supervisor orientation and Leadership Development courses.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
