The I ntensive C are U nit (ICU) at Tradition Hospital sees patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries and complex medical conditions . When providing critical care, nothing is more important than teamwork . As an RN, you will work alongside dedicated CTs, TCCs, RNs, physicians and other caregivers to ensure patients receive the best possible emergency attention and constant monitoring throughout treatment.
In this role, you can leave a meaningful impact on patients, their families and the community every day . Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills even further. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 7 :00 P M – 7:30 A M .
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families .
for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of P rofessional N ursing ( Diploma, ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) C ertification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience Completion of a Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings
