The Interventional Radiology RN supports patients during minimally invasive, image-guided vascular and non-vascular procedures involving the body from the neck down. This area performs a wide range of procedures including central line placement, angiograms, angioplasty/stenting, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, embolization, drain placements, biliary and nephrostomy interventions, and tumor -directed therapies. The RN provides procedural nursing support, assists with patient monitoring during procedures, administers and monitors sedation as appropriate , supports the physician and procedural team, and responds to changes in patient condition during moderate- to high-acuity cases. ED, PACU, or Critical Care experience is preferred, though other relevant RN experience will be considered. A caregiver in this position works 7a
- 5:30p ( 10-hour shifts) M-F. Weekend on-call coverage every 10- 12 weeks . A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings. Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings. Perform telephone triage and call rotations. Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications. Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team. Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning. Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care. Educate patients and families. Cover other nursing roles in the department.
