✓Demonstrates working knowledge of aseptic techniques, biomedical equipment, pharmacology, CPR, patient transport, quality improvement principles, and patient education methodologies.
OCN certification preferred, otherwise will maintain 18 CEU’s per COC 3-year accreditation cycle in the oncology related field.
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
BSN preferred.
Qualifications
✓ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Course within 1 year of hire and renewed every 2 years.
✓Demonstrates a specialized level of knowledge and thorough understanding of hospital nursing practices, infection control procedures, intravenous nursing, and medication administration.
✓Demonstrates proficiency in venous access management, including peripheral IV insertion and care of central venous access devices (e.g., ports and PICC lines).
✓Demonstrates the ability to recognize and respond to infusion-related adverse reactions, including hypersensitivity or extravasation, in accordance with approved clinical protocols.

About the role

The Outpatient Infusion RN Physician Practice is responsible for rendering professional nursing services, either directly or indirectly, for a defined group of patients according to the CNE and Physician Practice philosophy of patient care. Nurse is also responsible for providing quality care to patients prior to, during and after treatment in accordance with department and hospital policy.
