Join us! Job Summary and Qualifications As a Burn Unit Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll play a vital role in the healing journey of patients with a variety of burn injuries.
With stays ranging from days to weeks, you’ll build meaningful relationships and witness powerful healing journeys. Partnering with a skilled team that’s deeply committed to this unique population, you’ll restore comfort and healing - caring for patients like family and improving lives every day. What will you do in this role: Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Performs the administration of prescribed medications. Monitors patient for therapeutic response. Notifies provider and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
Conducts complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensures patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtains and witnesses consent form.
Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalates care concerns appropriately.
What qualifications you will need: Mu st be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
