The RN Sepsis Specialist position entails utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system to review ER monitors and identify patients at high risk for sepsis. The RN specialist will collaborate with the ER team to ensure that high-risk patients receive appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups.
This role presents a significant opportunity for the RN specialist to proactively identify and manage sepsis cases, thereby making a substantial impact on patient outcomes. Responsibilities of the position include conducting comprehensive follow-up assessments, providing healthcare staff with sepsis identification, assessment, and management education, actively participating in sepsis care and outcome improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in adherence to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR
1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact ( eNLC ). 2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
1. Three (3) years of nursing experience with two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse.
