Licensure
✓Licensed Professional Counselor
✓Associate Licensed Professional Counselor
✓Licensed Clinical Social Worker
✓Licensed Master Social Worker
✓Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
✓Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapists
Certifications
✓Substance abuse counselors must have a Master's degree in a related field and the Master's Addiction Counselor credential (MAC) and/or be a certified addiction counselor supervisor.
✓Employee will obtain initial CPR and SCIPP certification within 90 days of employment.
✓Employee will maintain CPR and SCIPP certification as required.
Education
✓Master's Degree in counseling or related field plus at least one year of training in a specialty resulting in certification
✓Must have a Master's degree in counseling or related field.
Qualifications
✓Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures
✓Ability to concentrate on task in high traffic areas.
✓Ability to deal with a crisis and potentially combative patients while maintaining personal and emotional terminology.
✓Ability to empathetically relate to people.
✓Ability to maintain information as highly confidential.
✓Able to meet deadlines.
✓Assessment and intervention skills.
✓Basic data entry skills required and preference for basic computer skills.
✓Familiar with clinical terminology.
✓Familiarity with the continuum of care.
✓If an individual is recovering from an alcohol or drug addiction, they must clean and sober for 2 years.
✓Knowledge of DSM IV diagnostic criteria.
✓Legible handwriting.
