You'll provide individualized support during transportation and play an important part in ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for medically fragile students. - One Student Care All Care Plans Provided During Training Supportive Clinical Team Schedule Morning Route Start: 7:30 AM (arrive by 7:15 AM) Approximately finished by 9:00 AM Afternoon Route Start: Approximately 1:25 PM End: Approximately 4:00 PM Route Details Morning Route: One trip with two students Followed by a longer route with one student Afternoon Route: One longer route with two students on the first leg Return to school for a second transport with one student Student Support Needs Comprehensive training and care plans will be provided for all students. As a School Transport Nurse, you will: Provide skilled nursing support during student transportation Monitor students with complex medical needs Administer care related to tracheostomies, G-tubes, seizure disorders, diabetes, and other medical conditions as needed Respond appropriately to changes in condition according to established care plans Communicate effectively with families, transportation teams, school staff, and clinical supervisors Ensure student comfort, safety, and well-being throughout each route Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with care protocols Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License Current BLS Certification Current Health Certificate (per state regulations) Current PPD or Chest X-Ray One year of RN experience preferred Experience with trach care, enteral feeding, seizure management, or pediatric nursing is a plus Ability to follow detailed care plans and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff Help Students Arrive Safely and Ready to Learn If you're looking for a unique nursing opportunity that combines flexibility, meaningful patient care, and a school-based schedule, we'd love to hear from you.
