SE Weekender Registered Nurse - OR (FT, Days)

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details: SE Weekender Registered Nurse Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO Department: Operating Room Status: Full-Time - 36 hours/week

12-hr Days - Scheduled Weekends Experienced RN Incentives: Up to $20,000 Sign-On Bonus - based on years of OR RN experience. No Contract Required ASN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000). BSN to MSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your MSN (up to $16,000).

Overview: Mercy Hospital Southeast OR includes general surgery, 2 DaVinci Xis, urology, plastics, gyn, orthopedic, neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Periop 101 through AORN is offered for new registered nurses. Our staff provides a comforting environment for patients that are undergoing a surgical procedure.

We work alongside preop staff, anesthesia providers, surgeons and recovery staff to safely provide care to patients needing an operation. As nurses, we train on the equipment being used, proper positioning and prepping of the patient, and documentation of the patient record. There is opportunity to cross-train and/or advance to scrub or First Assist in the cases as well.

At least 1 year of OR nursing experience is required. Required

Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required. Other: Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties. Why Mercy?
