Security Dispatcher

✓Requirements
Certifications
✓Must complete and pass Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training within 90 days of hire.
Certified 911 or Emergency Response Dispatcher preferred.
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business, Psychology or Sociology preferred.
Qualifications
✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
✓Must be able to use or learn computer programs for dispatching officers, report writing, information database look ups, email, access control and video monitoring systems.
✓Ability to operate, or learn to use, two-way radios, telephone, copier, fax and pager notification systems.
✓Ability to work independently and as a team.
✓Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
✓Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.
✓Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to make decisions using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.
✓Ability to maintain accurate records.
✓Must be customer service oriented.
✓Ability to walk and climb stairs.
✓Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.
✓Skill in operating portable radio devices.
✓Ability to detect irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations.
✓Effectively contacts and interacts with emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required.
✓Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Prior experience in a security officer/public safety/dispatcher field preferred.
Prior Law Enforcement or security dispatcher experience preferred.
Emergency Operations Center experience preferred.
Healthcare knowledge/experience preferred.
Knowledge of verbal and physical de-escalation, use of force continuum and arrest laws preferred.
