Security Officer

The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Not only is customer service a part of their

, as they are the first to greet visitors who come into the facilities but so is handling confrontations and providing issue management and support. The variety of security and safety related tasks encompass the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, and they include responding to alarms, emergency requests, de-escalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents. At times, it will be expected that Security Officers manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors.

This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range:$21.31 - $30.90 per hour, depending on experienceThis position is not eligible for benefits.-----Education/ExperienceMinimum Required:High School Diploma or equivalent.

ORWill accept 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of education requirementPreferred:One year experience in a Security related field. License/CertificationMinimum Required:Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record if candidate will be driving a vehicle while working, or if not, must have a valid NYS ID CardMust meet requirements of New York State Security Guard Licensing program and successfully pass within 3 months of hire.

CPR/Basic First Aid Certification.
