JOB SUMMARYThe UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is recruiting a full-time Senior Program Coordinator for the Perot Family Scholars Medical Scientist Training Program.

The program’s mission is to train physician–scientists who lead innovative research programs, translate discovery to patient care, and shape the future of medicine through scientific leadership. Students in the program obtain dual M. D. and Ph.

D. degrees. To support the continued growth of the program, we are recruiting a senior program coordinator to join the program leadership team, which consists of a faculty director, two co-directors, and multiple other supporting roles within the Graduate School. The Senior Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating recruitment, admissions, and onboarding efforts for the program, in addition to generating data insights to guide program decision-making.

This role will manage student progression through the dual-degree program, engage with leadership to implement new program initiatives, work collaboratively with other Graduate School staff to meet program objectives, and liaise with leaders and staff of other University departments. Specific day-to-day tasks include managing student enrollment, developing student outcomes tracking system, financial oversight of the program budget, management of NIH T32 award including drafting annual reports and renewal applications, coordinating/hosting program seminars and meetings, developing program recruitment materials, and engaging with prospective applicants.

Candidates with prior experience with MSTP, NIH T32 grants, and familiarity with both clinical and basic science research environments will be given strong consideration. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who can design and implement new program initiatives. They will be able to represent the program nationally at recruitment and networking events and institutionally to executive leadership.

They will be strong team-players who can work collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students to achieve program goals. They will demonstrate ability to effectively manage & prioritize multiple priorities at the same time. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONRequiredEducationBachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science, or related field Experience7 years Experience in appropriate field and May consider additional years of experience in lieu of education. PreferredExperience2 years In supervisory capacity and JOB DUTIESDirects, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates program operation and procedures.

Develops and/or oversees development of budget for program. Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program. Establishes program goals and objectives and directs program evaluation and quality control activities; develops and/or approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.

Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities. Plans and coordinates special events. Participates in conferences.

Presents data and program information. Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Coordinates training and development of staff as necessary. Reads literature and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical developments related to program. Serves on committees as representative of assigned program as appropriate.
