The Laboratory of Dr. Joanna Przybyl is seeking a Research Technologist to participate in translational cancer research.
The Przybyl lab develops novel clinically applicable liquid biopsy testing methods for sarcoma and applies multi-omic (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and methylome) high-throughput methods to discover new biomarkers and new therapies for sarcoma. Read more about the Przybyl Lab: https://www.lerner.ccf.org/computational-medicine/przyby/ The selected candidate will apply well-established protocols and develop novel protocols for library preparation for next-generation sequencing and perform functional studies to investigate therapeutic targeting of metabolic pathways in sarcoma models.
The selected candidate will assist in the interpretation of the results and troubleshooting technical issues. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Supervise a research lab on a daily basis, including space, equipment, personnel, and project management.
Assist staff investigator with experimental design and planning/developing technical aspects of research projects. Plan, organize, perform, and monitor daily project protocols. Collect, prepare, and maintain required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes, and medical reports.
Report and assist with the management of protocol deviations, adverse events, and other project-related issues. Assist with the preparation and delivery of internal/external presentations, conference reports/lectures, and publishing submissions. Maintain specimen database for the laboratory projects.
Perform ongoing literature review to remain current with new procedures and related research. Propose new research directions based on new advances discussed in literature. Perform general maintenance duties of a “wet” lab facility, such as maintenance of stock solutions, inventory, cell lines, and all necessary functions associated with the performed studies.
