In a typical day, you will manage a schedule of patient appointments, collaborate with care teams, and travel between clinical locations to provide professional interpretation services that support patient understanding, safety, and informed decision-making. Key responsibilities include: Providing professional ASL interpretation during inpatient and outpatient clinical encounters. Supporting communication between patients, families, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams. Coordinating communication access services across multiple UVA Health locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires frequently traveling (distance: minimum 1 mile/daily). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree The pay range for this role is $19.88 - $33.94 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
