Expected pay for this position is $15.00-$20.25. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
The Direct Care Observer/Sitter works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and under the direct supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse to observe a patient for harmful and/or dangerous behaviors. This position is an important component of the continuum of care as is provided to maintain the safety and protect the well-being of patients at-risk for injury. The observation and care activities are individualized for each patient at the direction the medical staff.
The position assists in the provision of a safe a clean environment and promotes the therapeutic milieu and the efficiency of the nursing team. Provides assistance with activities of daily living, unless the patient needs are such that adverse health consequences are predictable. The Direct Care Observer/Sitter is also responsible for completing a variety of departmental specific tasks to assist with optimal department safety and functioning.
Job Specifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum
None required. Required Licenses/Certifications: AHA BLS certification and CPI Training required within 90 days of hire. The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment and therapeutic milieu.
