Receives, sorts, stores, transports and issues soiled and new Hospital linens and uniforms. Job Responsibility * Verifies that bagged laundry received has been sorted correctly and when necessary, separates incorrectly bagged soiled linen according to color and type. Places sorted laundry in appropriate carts. * Performs a variety of duties such as distributing carts with fresh linens to floors, pushing filled carts to platform for transmittal to laundry, and maintaining work area in a clean and orderly condition by sweeping floors, arranging carts, etc. * Receives soiled uniforms and dispenses clean one to appropriate employees over counter in Linen Department. * Stocks new linen inventory in department storeroom and stamps new linen, in accordance with established procedures. * Confers with other departments such as Nursing, to coordinate distribution of uniforms, as directed.

Job Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
