Certifications
✓Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in appropriate sub-specialty of department placement (adult echocardiology or pediatric echocardiology) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing
✓Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Education
✓Successful completion of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited cardiac ultrasound program.
Qualifications
✓Able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality
✓use computer, printer, fax, software programs necessary to the position
✓troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
✓Able to communicate in English, relate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
✓be assertive and consistent in following and or enforcing policies
✓work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
✓lead, supervise, teach and collaborate
✓accept direction.
✓Able to communicate effectively in English, in person, in writing, and on the telephone
✓think critically

Job Summary: The Sonographer 1-Echocardiography is a licensed sonographer working under the direct supervision of a credentialed staff Sonographer Echocardiography or Cardiologist. Performs designated direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate qualify patient-centered care. Prepares the patients, equipment, and supplies prior to exams.
