✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
✓Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
✓Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
Certifications
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent).
✓Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
✓Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
✓ARRT registration in interventional radiology required within 1 year in position.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology Work Experience: 2-4 years
✓Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and minimum 1 year of experience in interventional radiology preferred and /or graduate of an advanced IR program.

✓Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
✓Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience required.

About the role

The Special Procedures Technologist performs invasive procedures partnered with the interventional radiologist. Responsible for patient assessment, education pre and post procedure, and safe care and monitoring of patient during the procedure. Responsible for safe administration of radiation, contrast dosing and image processing.
