Demonstrate ability to assess therapeutic appropriateness utilizing clinical information in the electronic medical record, retail pharmacy software, or obtained during patient interview. Provide appropriate patient-specific medication recommendations that ensure safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness. Assist in the education, support, and training of pharmacy technicians, patient medication liaisons, pharmacy students, pharmacists, and residents.
Serve as a resource for the pharmacy team, nursing, and prescribers for questions/issues related to pharmacotherapy; analyze literature to support usage and contact prescribers as needed. Perform basic functions of outpatient pharmacy workflow and other duties as assigned. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Pharmacist licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Medication Therapy Services endorsement required within 12 months of hire.
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program. Three (3) years of pharmacy experience. Advanced certification such as BCACP, BCOP, BCPS, BCCCP, CSP, or BCPPS or other relevant pharmacy board certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board.
Experience in specialty pharmacy or clinical experience in specialty disease states. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
