You’ll need
Licensure
✓Valid State of Mississippi Speech Language Pathologist license
Certifications
✓Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Education
✓Master's Degree in speech-language pathology, communicative disorders, or speech and hearing science from an accredited program
✓1 year of direct clinical work with patients, consultations, record keeping, or any other duties relevant to a bona fide program of clinical work
Qualifications
✓Advanced Speech Language Pathology principles, practices and procedures
✓Evaluation and treatment of individuals with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing disorders and
✓social or emotional needs
✓Use and operation of equipment used in speech language pathology
✓Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
✓Monitoring/assessing performance of individuals to make improvements or take corrective action
✓Thinking critically by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
✓Ability to prioritize tasks
✓Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
✓Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively through oral and written expression

About the role
The Certified Speech-Language Pathologist provides advanced therapy services and education to patients, patient's family and staff to prevent and treat disability following disease, injury or other cause. The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, provides treatment and collaborates with others to optimize functional recovery and minimize disability.
