Essential Job Duties: Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality and safe outcomes. E. class within eight months of hire and maintain throughout,. Demonstrate knowledge of OB specific medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate) Performs sterile vaginal exams to assess labor progress (dilation, effacement, station, position) Demonstrate knowledge of fetal monitoring, including application of fetal scalp electrode and interpretation of reassuring and non-reassuring fetal monitoring strips. Demonstrates competency in scrubbing/circulating for C-Sections Utilizes appropriate Breastfeeding techniques, holds and equipment to promote successful breast-feeding Demonstrate knowledge of infant security procedures Demonstrate knowledge of oxygen therapy in the treatment of newborns with respiratory distress Demonstrate knowledge of infant umbilical catheters Recognize signs and symptoms of hyperbilirubinemia and provide Phototherapy set-up, use and cleaning of equipment Demonstrates proficiency in preforming and documenting newborn hearing screens, and CHD screens Demonstrates knowledge in caring for the stillborn and offering grief support to the family.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Some areas may require a current and valid driver’s license.
