Assist in procurement of hematopoietic progenitor cells (bone marrow, apheresis) Verify appropriate donor Human Leukocyte Antigen (LHA) results Interacts with physicians regarding cell doses for transplants Participate in quality assurance and accreditation initiatives Collaborate with researchers developing new procedures Provides technical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
Schedule FTE: 1.0 Shift Hours: Variable Days of Week: Variable ***Rotating call requirement** Additional Considerations: May be required to be available during 'off' hours for emergency call back. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in biological science or related area preferred or comparable experience. Current Florida Medical Technologist license or ASCP Certification as a Technologist in at least one of the following: Hematology, Immunohematology, Serology. Proficiency in using sterile technique required.
Previous experience in Stem Cell Processing and cell culturing preferred, but experience in Blood Banking or HLA Typing acceptable. Analytical skill required. Computer operational skills using personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital system preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
