Sterile Processing Assistant - University Hospital & Outpatient Clinics

The Sterile Processing team is seeking a dependable and motivated Sterile Processing Assistant to help support the essential work of cleaning, organizing, and maintaining medical instrumentation used throughout the hospital. You'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting patient care while working with a friendly and welcoming team.

As a Sterile Processing Assistant, you will perform routine, non-technical support duties that help keep the department operating efficiently. Responsibilities include: Transporting sterile and contaminated instrumentation throughout designated areas Breaking down boxes and organizing supplies Checking expiration dates on sterile items Emptying cart washers and supporting equipment workflow Assisting with general departmental operations Completing other assigned duties as needed What We're Looking For Required Qualifications No previous sterile processing experience required No certifications required Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Ability to perform a physically active role Preferred Qualities Fast-paced and motivated work style Strong reliability and attendance Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work independently while supporting team goals Comfort with routine processes and structured schedules Work Environment Monday through Friday schedule Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM No holiday work requirements Active role that involves significant walking throughout the day Professional street clothes are typically worn; scrubs are occasionally provided when needed
