The Stroke Center Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining SJMC Stroke Center Program. This role is also responsible for providing; fiscal, staff and leadership accountabilities within department. CLINICAL & STRETEGIC MANAGEMENT: Develops and maintains the SJMC Stroke Center program creates an infrastructure which employs an interdisciplinary approach and defines and maintains the Scope of Services for the Stroke program.
Assesses current status of TIA and Stroke care and recommends evidence-based changes in TIA and Stroke care. Ensures TIA and Stroke care is practiced and documented according to the clinical standards of SJMC and ensures a well-coordinated and organized performance of care for TIA and Stroke patients. Collaborates with the director to continually monitor the level of professional practice within the medical center related to Stroke care and institutes actions or programs to ensure comprehensive patient care, teamwork and professionalism.
Directs the collection and retention of all SJMC TIA and Stroke data. Coordinates production of the Stroke Center program 'Annual Report' timely to the deadline. Coordinates the JCAHO Primary Stroke Center and Certification and monitors for continued compliance for Certification.
LEADERSHIP DUTIES: Takes responsibility for own actions, holds self and others to high ethical and performance standards, and continually strives to improve levels of individual, team, and organizational performance. Conducts and coordinates departmental in-services and meetings and serves as the liaison for Stroke Center Program with other departments. Assists with development of goals, policies, standards and plan of service for the department and coordinates activities relative to student affiliation programs as needed.

Provides regular and timely performance feedback; develops employees’ skills, encourages growth and participates in the annual review process.
