Department: Telemetry Unit Shifts Available: Days Employment Type: PRN / Per Diem Hours: 12-hour shifts Location: St Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO Make a meaningful impact every day. As an RN Student Extern, In this role, you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients win a dynamic inpatient behavioral health setting. Working alongside an interdisciplinary care team, you'll play a key role in promoting excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
and responsiblities include - but are not limited to: The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of an RN the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded.
All newly hired externs will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
Successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program.2. Must be in good and academic standing.3. Current Basic Life Support Certification.4.
