Licensure
✓Enrolled in an accredited nursing program to prepare candidates for Registered Nurse licensure.
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
✓Knowledge of CPR, hospital nursing practices, infection control procedures, and medical terminology.
Qualifications
✓Experience of one clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
✓Externship requires availability of a minimum of 6 months prior to expected date of graduation.
✓Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, giving particular attention to any unique physical and psychosocial needs.
✓Verbal ability to communicate with patients and health-care team and to understand instructions received.
✓Ability to detect, and report changes in patient’s condition.
✓Demonstrates behaviors that contribute to a positive working environment.
✓Good communication skills.
