Description
Status: Non-ExemptA Brief OverviewThis student team member is a part of the care delivery team under the direction of and assistive to, a Registered Nurse to provide delegated, direct patient care intervention, including the performance of non-sterile procedures. Responsible for providing a safe environment for assigned patients; to complete the assigned work; to monitor the patient for changes in condition and to report those changes to the RN/LPN.
Education QualificationsMust be enrolled in their first semester in an accredited nursing program. Experience Qualifications1 year Customer service experience. RequiredDirect patient care experience.

- Obtains verbal report from patient’s nurse to include information regarding identified care needs, diagnosis, communication barriers, and special considerations (NPO, bed alarms, suicide precautions, etc.). Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate staff in a timely manner.Obtains instruction from nurse regarding ambulation limitations and course of action for redirection of patient if needed.Positions self in patient room continuously observing patients behavior and activity.
