You’ll need
Licensure
✓If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a cytotechnologist or histotechnologist, must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
✓Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
Certifications
✓Possess a national laboratory certification or laboratory specialty certification through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
✓or be registry eligible.
✓Certification is not required when clinical lab testing is not performed by the team.
✓May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education
✓Associate degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Qualifications
✓Two years of laboratory related experience required.
