You’ll need
Licensure
✓Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or Medical Laboratory Technologist license required.
✓Individuals holding a limited or specialty California clinical laboratory license (e.g., limited CLS, Cytotechnologist, Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist, or other specialty license) may be considered
Certifications
✓ASCP certification, or equivalent required.
Education
✓Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science may function as Testing Personnel for moderate (42 CFR § 493.1425) and high complexity testing (42 CFR § 493.1495) , General Supervisor for high complexity testing (42 CFR § 493.1463), and may qualify
✓Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (42 CFR § 493.1449)
✓or an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (42 CFR § 493.1461) required.
Qualifications
✓Minimum of four years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
✓however, such individuals may only perform and supervise testing within the scope of their licensed specialty in accordance with California Business and Professions Code and applicable regulations.
