The Clinical Supervisor (CS) is a responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager or Director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. It is expected that the CS manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises caregivers, functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate.
CSs scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care. The CS maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable.

Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association. Upon hire: ANCC-recognized specialty certification (or within 1 year of hire). For Clinical Supervisors hired prior to February 16, 2022, who have not obtained an AACN-recognized specialty certification, certification must be obtained within 1 year from 2/16/2022.
Upon hire: National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association. Upon hire: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate - NIH Stroke Scale Training Course. 1 year of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital in the specialty area. 1 year of Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
Bachelor's Degree: Nursing. Or Master's Degree: Nursing. Shared Governance experience.
