Under the supervision of the Manager, the OR Supervisor utilizes the nursing process and organizational and leadership skills to ensure that all patients receive care appropriate to their age and developmental level in the most efficient and courteous manner possible. The Supervisor maintains the integrity of the unit to meet all accreditation and licensure requirements, assesses staffing needs for the unit, and collaborates with and makes recommendations to the Manager to ensure that patients’ needs are met.
Must possess a current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . Appropriate clinical experience with a thorough knowledge of the scientific principles of nursing and professional nursing standards, developed skill in delivering nursing care, and the ability to adapt to individual needs. A fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
The ability to successfully complete a competency-based orientation and annual competency testing of skills and/or knowledge necessary to provide care to specific patient populations. 18 months of operating room experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Five years of clinical experience in a related field. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Certification in operating room nursing.
Previous supervisory experience.
