Supervisor

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION: Lab Supervisor will oversee revenue cycle processes for lab claims. This position will make sure claims are coded correctly and billed out in a timely manner. See that any denials received will be worked properly to receive correct reimbursement.

Listed below is an outline of the major duties and responsibilities that you will be required to perform. As Lab Supervisor, you delegate authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out your assigned duties: Maintain a good workflow for lab claims. This area of business is high volume and low dollars.

Review lab ATB each month to make sure claims are flowing through AR correctly. Work with other departments to co-ordinate patient information. Work to ensure payment for denied patient claims.

Work with Lab staff to reinforce what is needed to be successful. Work with patients as needed. Having working knowledge of software tools provided through Expanse, Excel, etc.

All information received from the insurance company is documented in the Meditech bar survey screen so that other departments are informed of the patient’s status.

High School Education. Supervisory Skills. Insurance or public relations experience or related experience (2–5 yrs.) Investigative Skills.

Work independently, with or without a supervisor. Self-motivated.
