Job Summary The Supervisor of Donor Center oversees daily collection activities at the Blood Center. This ensures collection goals are met for whole blood and apheresis donors. Coordinates all collection activities with recruitment staff.
of the Role Supervises all activities related to the collection of blood and blood products by the Donor Center. Ensures that collections and processes are in compliance with FDA regulations as well as CAP and AABB standards. Ensures and oversees the mobile operations of the Blood Donor Center.
Coordinates all activities with the recruitment staff. Assists in training and completion of all necessary documentation for staff training and education. Performs RCA on appropriate occurrences reported within the Blood Donor Center and follows up with appropriate actions.
Monitors and addresses personnel-related issues related to the Blood Donor Center staff. Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Key Success Factors Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols, and procedures.
Statistical and critical thinking abilities. Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions. Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures.
Knowledge of safety and infection control standards. Ability to work in a team environment. Make tactical choices about allocating and directing supervised employees' work using established guidelines, policies, or procedures.
Ability to make effective hiring and termination recommendations. Ability to train and evaluate the performance of supervised staff. General computer skills include Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
