Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Assist (casual) at the Northland Medical Center located in Princeton, MN. This is a casual (0.01 FTE) opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours or scheduled shifts each pay period. The surgical assistant provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
The surgical assistant also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate safe patient care. The surgical assistant performs these duties under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and in accordance with hospital policies and appropriate laws and regulations. Employee will act in the Surgical Technologist role when not needed in the Surgical Assistant role.
Required Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program 3 years Surgical Tech experience Surgical Technologist Cert Cert Surgical First Assistant Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN)
