You’ll need
Certifications
✓Sterile Processing Certification required within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
✓Safe sterilization and decontamination practices, Operation and troubleshooting of sterilizers to include steam, peracetic acid.
✓Knowledge and operation of high level disinfectant chemicals, indicators, and related supplies.
✓Knowledge of basic housekeeping techniques and safe use of PPE’s/infection control standards.
✓Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
✓Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, names, uses.
✓Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
✓Demonstrated awareness of asepsis concept.
✓Basic training in sterilization processing.
✓Basic decontamination /sterilization process training.
✓Working knowledge of sterile technique.
✓Experience in health care setting.
✓Good organization and communication skills.
✓Demonstrated legible handwriting.
✓Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Demonstrated experience in processing preferred.
Housekeeping experience in acute care facility preferred.
About the role
This position is responsible to collect procedure instruments and trays used in other departments to manually clean, disinfect, inspect, lubricate, terminally sterilize, assembles/label, wrap, load sterilizer carts, and appropriately operate Steris and steam sterilizers. Returns processed items to the various departments according to protocols.
