You’ll need
Certifications
✓BLS from American Heart Association
✓NCCT or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.
Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
Education
✓HS Diploma/GED or Vocational Training AND Graduate of surgical technologist program
Qualifications
✓1-2 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist AND 1-2 years of supply chain or relevant office environment experience.
✓Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure.
✓Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions.
3-5 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist preferred
Necessary Skills preferred
Effective oral and written communication skills. preferred
Need to have effective computer skills, including typing, and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span. preferred
In depth knowledge of medical terminology. preferred
Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes. preferred
Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team preferred
Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change. preferred
Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals preferred
