Surgical Tech 2 – OR – Greenbrier Valley Medical Center - 1320 Maplewood

• Provision of assistance to the operating room staff and to the needs of the physician in providing patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse. Responsibilities
• Assist the operating room team by preparing the OR suite for surgical procedures in a timely manner.
• Practice aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Apply appropriate cleaning techniques in the operating room.
• Participate during the course of the procedure by handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
• Assist with applying the dressing to the incision.
• Clean and restock the room assigned.
• Assist with inservice and training of new personnel.
• Take call as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. • Formalized Training (Required)

High School Diploma/GED AND Certificate-Surgtech

• 6 months of surg tech experience Credentials
• Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hireWithin 30 days of hire
• Surgical Technician (Required) Work
