Medical Center: Operating Room - Full-Time, Day Shift Job
The Surgical Technician (ST) provides high level of care by assisting with age-specific surgical procedures, practices principles of surgical asepsis, identifies breaks in the sterile field and ensures that appropriate action is taken. Anticipates needs of the surgical team and promotes efficient flow of the operative procedure, serves as a resource for specialty area and functions effectively in multiple areas. Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines, utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism.

Completion of a surgical technician course required. No experience required. Knowledge and
Demonstrates basic competencies for surgical technician duties. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to surgical technician duties and practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in surgical and procedural technician duties. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required.

Licensures and
Surgical Technician certification preferred. Certification may be provided by either AST (Association of Surgical Technologists) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing). Basic Life Support certification required.
