You’ll need
Certifications
✓Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT within 1 year of hire or transfer
✓BLS from the American Heart Association
Education
✓GED or High School Diploma AND Graduate of surgical technologist program
Associate's degree in related field preferred
Qualifications
✓Minimum of six (6) months surgical technologist experience
✓Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including but not limited to presentation skills and report writing.
✓Must have expert knowledge, use and demonstration of standard precautions; Expert knowledge, use and experience with aseptic and sterile technique. Must have experience training and precepting staff in Cardio-Thoracic surgery
✓Must have organization and time management skills including but not limited to organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
3-5 years of working experience as a cardiothoracic-vascular surgical technologist and assistant in a specialty line (Cardiology, Neurology, or Orthopedics) preferred
Necessary Skills preferred
Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span; Strong working knowledge of anatomic structure and human body system; Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes. preferred
In depth knowledge of medical terminology. preferred
Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups preferred
