High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.

Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law. Communication Management- Listens to physicians and communicates need to circulator in advance (anticipates).- Anticipates needs of surgeon by paying attention and responding appropriately.- Recognizes and reports emergency situations.- Communicates with physician, confirms correct specimen and disposition to circulator (under the direction of physician.- Communicates delays or completion before scheduled time to circulator to ensure efficient room utilization or schedule changes.- Communicates instrument and equipment problems to appropriate team member and identifies repair needs according to policy.

Technology- Demonstrates competence in initiating and maintaining use of routine equipment and procedures.- Performs technical skills relative to specific specialties i.e., assembling instrumentation and equipment (retractors, power equipment, etc.)- Assists in evaluation of new products, equipment, policies, procedures and standard- Fills out appropriate paperwork to assist with decisions. Stewardship Awareness- Plans, organizes and evaluates work activities appropriately.- Works efficiently and quickly producing high quality work.- Conserves resources and watches for a better way to complete work.
